Description
Ibtidaiyyah 1 الابتدائية الأولى represents the first structured academic stage within the Ibtidaiyyah (Primary) Level. This stage is carefully designed to establish strong foundational skills in Qur’anic reading, basic Arabic language, essential Islamic knowledge, and disciplined learning habits.
At this level, learners begin a guided transition from informal learning to organized, goal-oriented study, with close attention given to accuracy, consistency, and comprehension.
Focus Areas
At Ibtidaiyyah 1, the curriculum focuses on the following core subjects:
- القراءة (Qirā’ah – Qur’an Reading Techniques) :
Strengthening accurate Qur’an reading, correct articulation of letters, and application of basic Tajwīd rules under guided supervision.
- الحفظ (Qur’an Memorization) :
Memorization of selected short sūrahs with emphasis on correct recitation, retention, and revision.
- اللغة العربية (Arabic Language) :
Introduction to basic Arabic vocabulary, sentence structure, and elementary grammar in a simplified and engaging manner, forming a foundation for future language development.
- الدراسات الإسلامية (Islamic Studies) :
Foundational lessons covering core Islamic concepts appropriate to the learner’s level.
- الحديث (Hadith) :
Learning selected short hadiths, focusing on understanding, memorization, and basic moral lessons.
الأذكار (Adhkār & Supplications) :
Memorization and practice of daily adhkār and essential supplications, nurturing spiritual awareness and routine remembrance of Allah.
Learning Expectations
At this stage, learners are expected to:
- Participate actively in lessons and guided activities
- Complete all required lessons, assignments, and quizzes in sequence
- Demonstrate gradual improvement in reading, memorization, and understanding
- Develop discipline, consistency, and respect for academic structure
Advancement is not automatic; learners must meet the required completion and assessment criteria before progressing.
Progression and Purpose
Ibtidaiyyah 1 lays the groundwork for all subsequent stages. The emphasis is not speed, but accuracy, stability, and clarity. By the end of this stage, learners should possess the essential tools and readiness needed to advance confidently to Ibtidaiyyah 2, In shā’ Allāh.
